The questions are as follows:
First login, so running hardware setup script
Please choose a mouse type.

At this prompt you should enter a number between 1 and 7 that matches your mouse. Note that most newer mice at least support the Microsoft protocol (choice 1). In particular, for some Logitech mice, you should in fact choose option 1 here. If you have any brand of PS/2 mouse, choose 4. Don't worry if you make a mistake - you can always run the program again.
The next question is
Please indicate which port your mouse is connected to.
Note that cua0 corresponds to MS-DOS COM1, cua1 corresponds to COM2, etc
1) cua0
2) cua1
3) cua2
4) cua3
5) psaux
#?
Again, type in the number of one of the options. If your mouse is on COM<n> under DOS, type in <n>. If you have a PS/2 mouse, type 5. If you have some other kind of mouse, it can also be used, but will involve some fiddling. You will then be asked:
You have indicated that your mouse is a Microsoft on cua0.
Continue with installation?
To commit the changes, type ``y'' or ``yes''. Otherwise you will be asked the questions again.
The program will now attempt to detect your CD-ROM. If it succeeds, you will see a message like:
A CD-ROM drive has been detected as device hdb
Otherwise, you will be asked a question about what kind of CD-ROM you have and how it is connected to your computer. It is not critical for the installation that you answer this question. If you are not sure, choose ``none'' (1).
Please choose a cdrom type
Note: choose "none" if you don't have a CD-ROM
choose "hdb" if you have an IDE CD-ROM as the second IDE device
